“As a social work intern with P2L, I have been able to assess not only my clients’ growth with their treatment goals but my own growth as well. I have been able to reflect upon where I began as a social work intern: admittedly a bit uncertain of my own capabilities to truly take what I have learned and apply it into practice, to truly engage with clients and create strong rapport, to utilize theories to guide me while showcasing my authentic self, - all while assessing clients, interacting with varying systems, working to challenge oppression and power imbalances and allowing my clients voices to be heard and most importantly engaging in self-care- and to realize that I have accomplished all of those things in my work as a social work intern this year is nothing short of empowering in realizing my own potential.

P2L has undoubtedly played a vital role in allowing me to do so: I have learned to apply interventions while meeting clients where they were at. P2L also provided me with a strong sense of community as well. My fellow interns always provided support and reassurance, especially during monthly trainings and my supervisors consistently provided helpful feedback and guidance.

During my time with P2L, I have never felt alone in this journey and as a future social worker I am truly grateful for the experience.”
